Time off work

An employee is entitled to paid time off work for:
  • antenatal care (where they’re pregnant)
  • certain duties and training as a representative or official of a recognised independent trade union or as a union learning representative, e.g. negotiation with you or attending disciplinary and grievance hearings
  • acting as a safety representative, or as an elected employee representative where there is no trade union representation
  • looking for alternative work or retraining while under notice of redundancy, subject to qualifying service
